He Said...

My trusted travel guru, Grace, found tickets when no one else could, everything out of Lhasa was booked up until 2nd October, but Grace got us out tomorrow, the same day our permit expires and just enough time to catch the Typhoon currently ploughing through Southern China.

We did the last of our tourist shopping, Ais bartered for her singing prayer bowl, I got my prayer beads and Mum got some Grade 2 saffron, it's $5000 per lb, needless to say she has an ounce or so but it's the good stuff!

More and more monks out and about today, maybe it was their day off or wash day- which must be a doddle as they have no coloureds or whites to worry about just bung the burgundy all in together.

So next stop is Hong Kong, a tad of civilisation, a bit of R&R and a planning point for the next leg of the journey which should be South East Asia ( Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia and finally Singapore which is where we pick up the next leg of our flights to Oz

On the way back to the hotel the Chinese military somewhat redeemed themselves when one of the heavily armed soldiers stopped to check himself in a car window while his colleague slapped him on the back of the helmet so he face butted the window, they do laugh it seems, I did too until he shot me one of his "I kiw yoo" faces, he did have an AK47,but it was as big as he was

Hopefully, HK not being China, we should get Google and Blogger back, you'll know as you'll be reading this.We also hope to drop a few hundred more photos.

Last minute fretting as we lost the flights, thankfully with Grace on the case all was well by midnight.
